About
Barkzone was founded in 2023 with a simple idea: creating a place where dogs can truly be dogs, and most importantly, where they can be happy.
We operate mainly as a dog daycare, but we also offer family boarding in our own home, dog walking and at home visits. All of our services require a previous assessment, because we believe that understanding each dog as an individual is essential to providing the right environment, care and experience.
Everyone who works at Barkzone has studies in dog language and communication, while I, as the founder, have dedicated my own studies to canine behaviour, with a particular focus on fearful and scared dogs.
Transparency is one of the foundations of Barkzone. We believe that pet owners should always know where their dogs are, how they are spending their day and how they are being cared for. That is why we maintain open communication throughout the day, regularly sharing photos and videos with our clients.
We also believe that part of our responsibility goes beyond caring for dogs. We want to educate our community and help pet owners make better, more informed and conscious decisions when choosing services for their animals. We believe that knowing what questions to ask, what standards to look for and what is genuinely appropriate for an individual dog is an important part of responsible pet parenting.
We strongly believe in less volume, better quality. Having fewer dogs means we can give each one more attention, supervision and individual care. For us, quality will always matter more than quantity.
Our goal is to continue growing carefully and, hopefully in the near future, expand into a larger plot with more nature and space, giving dogs even more opportunities to explore, play, relax and simply be themselves.
Barkzone is a place where dogs can be dogs, where dogs can be happy, and where transparency, education and quality of care come first.

A Barkzone é, sem dúvida, um daqueles lugares onde sabemos que os nossos cães estão nas mãos certas. Não é fácil confiar a alguém os nossos patudos, mas aqui encontrámos muito mais do que um espaço para os deixar: encontrámos pessoas que verdadeiramente gostam de animais e cuidam deles com carinho, atenção e respeito. Cada cão é tratado como um indivíduo, com a sua personalidade e as suas necessidades. Saber que estão bem e são bem cuidados quando não estamos com eles dá-nos uma tranquilidade que não tem preço. Obrigada a toda a equipa pela dedicação e pela forma como cuidam deles! É muito bom termos a sorte de existir um lugar onde sabemos que os nossos cães estão verdadeiramente bem. A Barkzone é, sem dúvida, a segunda casa deles. ❤️

I’ve had the pleasure of being part of Barkzone, and I can honestly say that this is much more than just a dog daycare. What I love most is seeing how genuinely happy the dogs are here. Every dog has their own personality, needs and little quirks, and there is a real effort to make each one feel comfortable, safe and cared for. Being around dogs every day is such a privilege, and it’s lovely to be part of a team that shares that same passion and respect for them. There’s plenty of play, exercise and socialisation, but also lots of attention, patience and affection. I’m really grateful to be part of the team be led by the Owner Carina and to have the opportunity to spend my days surrounded by so many wonderful four-legged personalities. If you’re looking for a place where your dog will be treated with genuine care and attention, I would definitely recommend Barkzone.

A great social environment for your dog run by highly knowledgeable professionals
I have been bringing my dog to Barkzone for 4 years. Max was a covid puppy and did not have a lot of socialization because of this. Barkzone and the entire staff have helped Max slowly (in Max's case VERY Slowly 😁) grasp doggy manners and how to read the room with other dogs. I call upon the staff more than I should with questions of all sorts but mostly health and behavior questions. Barkzone genuinely care about your babies. Max is in love with all of the staff . Highly recommend. ❤️

The perfect Daycare
My dog has been going to Barkzone daycare since she was four months old, she is now almost three years old and I am certain that her social skills and confidence around other dogs are largely due to the this team’s work. They have strong understanding of canine behaviour and help ensure that interactions between dogs are always safe, positive, and enriching. I Truly recommend the daycare and its wonderful staff, led by Carina. They are all incredibly caring with the dogs and genuinely interested in getting to know each one as an individual.

Great for socialisation, with a caring team
Our dog has been coming to Barkzone since she was a puppy, and she's always excited to go. Over time we've seen how much it has helped her development. She's more confident, calmer, and very comfortable around other dogs. She especially loves the water play and comes home happy and tired. The staff are very attentive and careful. They know each dog well, keep a close eye on the group, and keep us updated. That's why we trust them 100% and recommend Barkzone without hesitation.

My dog has been going to Barkzone since she was a puppy, and she absolutely loves it! I have complete peace of mind knowing that she is in such a safe and caring environment. There is a real sense of responsibility and care, and Carina, the owner, genuinely loves dogs and always puts their well-being first. It’s wonderful to see how happy my dog is every time she goes, and how much she enjoys socialising and spending time with the other dogs.
