Privacy policy

FOURFEET.guide is an independent directory and guide for pet life in the Algarve, Portugal, and part of the FourFeet family of services. For any privacy question, write to privacy@fourfeet.guide.

Account data: your email address, display name and, if you provide it, your home town and a short bio.

Pet data: names, species, breed, birth year, notes and photos you choose to add. This is optional and used only to personalise guidance for you.

Contributions: reviews, photos, business submissions, claims and corrections, along with the account that made them.

Technical data: basic request logs and aggregate analytics used to keep the site fast and secure.

To operate your account, show your saved places and pets, and publish contributions you choose to make public.

To verify business listings and to contact submitters or claimants about their listing.

To detect abuse, spam and fraudulent reviews.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your pet data for advertising.

We rely on contract (running your account), legitimate interests (keeping the directory accurate and safe) and consent where you actively publish content or opt into messages.

Account and pet data are kept while your account is open. Delete your account and we remove your profile, pets and favourites; published reviews may be retained in anonymised form to preserve listing history.

Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email privacy@fourfeet.guide and we respond within 30 days.

You may also complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) in Portugal.

We use hosting, database, authentication and email providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions under contract, and any transfer outside the EEA relies on standard contractual clauses.
